Bocci 28 mouth-blown glass pendant lights
'a sphere of light, captured in glass'
The Bocci 28 series is an iconic collection of mouth-blown glass pendant lights, designed by Omer Arbel for Bocci Vancouver. Available in more than 70 colours and finishes, the 28 series is equally at home above a dining table as in a striking installation in a double-height space or stairwell.
Each 28 pendant is the result of an experimental glass-blowing process in which air, heat and gravity interact. At the heart of each sphere sits a smaller opal glass capsule that distributes light softly and diffusely. The result is warm, mysterious and alive like the gentle glow of a lantern that illuminates from within.

Bocci showroom in The Hague
At Byron & Jones we work with Bocci lighting every day and have assembled the 28 series in various configurations ourselves. This gives us first-hand experience of how these glass spheres respond to colour, height and space.
In our showroom in The Hague you can truly experience the glass, the colour nuances and the floating effect of the Bocci 28. We are happy to advise you on colour combinations, quantities and clustering. From a single pendant above a table to a large-scale installation in a double-height space or stairwell. As an official dealer we supply original fixtures and guide you from selection through to installation.
Born from air, heat and chance
Every piece unique
Designed by Omer Arbel / Bocci Vancouver, each element of the 28 series is hand-blown in an open mould, meaning no two spheres are exactly alike. Small imperfections, air bubbles and colour variations make each piece unique — related to one another, yet each with its own character.
The glass is never clinical. Inside glows a warm core, set deep within the opal glass capsule, which distributes light in a gentle way. As if the sphere does not shine, but illuminates from within. Just enough to touch the room, not to dominate it.
Play with colour, rhythm and space
The 28 series offers a broad palette of more than 70 colours: from clear glass and soft neutral tones to deep amber, smoke grey or cobalt blue. Custom combinations are possible, allowing the fixture to be tailored to any interior vision. A cluster of warm earth tones fits perfectly in a Japandi-inspired interior, while a monochrome arrangement in clear glass brings calm to a minimalist space.
Space becomes atmosphere
A room with the Bocci 28 feels different. Organic forms break rigid lines, adding softness and tension without ever feeling busy. In an open double-height space a nearly weightless lighting installation emerges, with spheres appearing to float at varying heights. Above a kitchen island or dining table, a few carefully chosen pendants create intimacy and focus.
The Bocci 28 series is not a lamp you choose to fit in. It is a lamp you choose to surprise.
Considering a Bocci 28 pendant?
The Bocci 28 series calls for an approach that goes beyond simply choosing a colour. Given the wide range of colour options, the light weight and the way spheres relate to one another, composition is decisive for the end result. We have seen the 28 series in real-world applications and installed it ourselves: in tall stairwells, above kitchen islands, in clusters through a double-height space and as a quiet composition above a dining table. This means we can not only tell you what it is, but also what it does in a space.
In our showroom in The Hague we are happy to show you the various glass nuances and lighting effects. Photographs never quite capture the transparency and the subtle glow; in person you can see exactly how the light spreads through the mouth-blown glass.
We think along with you about the right colour combination, the number of pendants, the spacing and the positioning relative to sightlines and circulation routes.
Frequently asked questions
Which configuration suits my space?
That depends on ceiling height, the width of the space and where you want the pendants to "land" in the sightline. We can help you work this out quickly using a rough floor plan or photos.
Is the Bocci 28 suitable for high spaces or a double-height void?
That is precisely where the series often looks its best. The vertical line of multiple pendants at varying heights adds air and dynamism to the space.
How many colours are available?
The 28 series is available in more than 70 colours and finishes. In addition to the standard colours, custom combinations are possible.
Can I combine pendants in colour and height?
Yes. Mixing colours and lengths creates a lively, organic composition. We advise on a balance that remains calm without becoming busy.
Do you assist with installation?
We can coordinate with architects, contractors or electricians and provide technical specifications to ensure the installation is both safe and aesthetically correct.
Are you an official dealer?
Yes. We supply original Bocci fixtures and provide support with selection, delivery, installation and maintenance.
